The small barrel-vaulted Church of Saint John the Theologian stands at the western end of medieval Piada Castle above Nea Epidavros. An inscription dates its wall paintings to 1710. A relief slab from the Middle Byzantine period was incorporated into the wall and later inscribed with the year 1708. The church is reached on foot from the village along the route to the castle. Interior access should be checked on site.
